3 Tips to Dress Comfortably When Traveling

The worst part about traveling is getting from A to B. Once you’re at your holiday destination, everything is fine. Still, it can be really stressful trying to fly, drive, or sail to your chosen destination. Loads of different factors make this a tense time, including your clothing choices. The way you dress will play a massive role in how stress-free your journey will be. In the wrong attire, you’ll feel so uncomfortable and spend the entire time fidgeting.

What can you wear to feel comfortable while traveling? For me, there are a few essentials you need to bring along for the ride…

Wear Comfortable Footwear

Does it make sense to put on a pair of heels when you’re traveling? Of course, it doesn’t! In fact, I’d avoid any type of heeled footwear you own – even flat heels. Stay clear from ‘regular’ shoes as well; they can be a bit hard to walk in for hours on end. Realize that you will be on your feet for long periods, even if you’re traveling by plane. You have to be at the airport a few hours before, then spend time walking around – it’s a lot for your feet to handle.

So, the best option is a pair of comfy sneakers that you can wear for hours without feeling any discomfort. Running sneakers are your best bet as they tend to be lightweight and breathable, which should also help if your feet get sore on planes.

Get a Pair of Leggings

No joke – gym leggings are arguably the best item of clothing to wear when traveling. Why? Well, they tick all the right boxes. They’re lightweight, comfortable, and flexible. You won’t feel too restricted in a pair of leggings, and you can relax more. Plus, you have things like black snakeskin leggings that look super stylish, so you don’t have to worry about things from a fashion point of view!

You will still look fashionable and modern, but without compromising your comfort. Spend a day in leggings, then spend a day in jeans; tell me which one provides less stress!

Dress for the Destination

Where are you going? If you’re traveling to a hot country, you need to dress for this destination. Even if you come from a colder place, you can’t hop on a plane wearing multiple layers! When you get off, you’ll be overcome with the heat from your holiday destination, quickly prompting you to take off all of your clothes right away. Instead, dress for the weather in your holiday destination, so you feel more at ease when you land. That doesn’t mean you have to forgo style and elegance. You can pair these gorgeous earrings with basically anything casual and comfortable and still look amazing!

I always bring a hoody or a jacket with me on every journey, just in case. It can keep you warm if you’re a bit chilly, but it’s easy to remove when you get to warmer climates. This way, you can have the best of both worlds.

Honestly, your entire perspective of travel will change when you’re comfortable. The way I see it, you can’t change what you can’t change. For example, you can’t change a plane’s comfort because it’s out of your control. The same goes for trains and any other type of transport.

Instead, you can focus on things you can change – like your clothing. Wear appropriate travel gear to decrease stress and feel more at ease while getting from A to B.
