Kratom is one of today’s most popular herbal supplements. While residents of Southeast Asia have been using it for millennia, it’s new to most Western consumers. The effects are pretty universally enjoyable, but the taste can be off-putting.

Thankfully, there are a few ways to cover the bitter taste of popular products like Superior Red Dragon Kratom powder. Arguably the best of them is to use kratom to make delicious recipes. Cooking, baking, or making delicious kratom teas cuts the bitter taste without degrading its beneficial alkaloids.

Not the best at coming up with unique culinary creations? Try one of the seven must-try kratom recipes listed below:

1. Kratom Citrus Tea

Undoctored kratom tea can be almost as difficult to consume as pure kratom powder. It has a very bitter taste. This citrus tea uses that bitterness to great advantage by combining it with tart flavors. It’s also packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

To make this advanced form of kratom tea, just boil some water and stir in the kratom. Let it simmer on low for around 15 minutes before adding ½ a lemon, ½ an orange, and ½ a lime. Let the mixture simmer for another five minutes. Add honey to taste after removing it from the heat and let it cool before enjoying it.

2. Kratom Overnight Oats

Given that many people use kratom as a morning pick-me-up, it’s a perfect fit for breakfast recipes. These overnight oats are healthy, delicious, and easy to make. Just add ½ a cup of rolled oats and some kratom to ½ a cup of almond milk and two tablespoons of Greek yogurt. Cover it and refrigerate it overnight. Add desired toppings like chia seeds, fruit, or nuts in the morning before enjoying a delicious breakfast treat.

3. Chocolate Chip Kratom Cookies

Looking for a sweet treat infused with red vein kratom to eat as an after-work snack? These chocolate chip kratom cookies will be a perfect fit. Here’s what home bakers will need to get them started:

  • ¾ c butter
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 c flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ c chocolate chips
  • 24 g kratom powder

Mix the butter and sugar, then add in the eggs. Stir the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl. Mix the two before adding the chocolate chips. Place tablespoon-sized balls of the finished dough onto cookie sheets. Bake them for around 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool and enjoy it. Easy, right?

4. Kratom Apple Sauce

Applesauce and spices are the perfect way to cut the bitterness of kratom. Some kratom enthusiasts claim this is the only way to enjoy their favorite herbal supplements. All they need to do is add a full dose of kratom to one cup of applesauce.

Want to spice it up some? Try adding ground cloves, cinnamon, turmeric, and honey or sugar. Just keep in mind that turmeric is a powerful kratom potentiator.

5. Kratom Coffee

Some people use citrus kratom tea or similar recipes to replace the traditional morning cup of java. Others couldn’t imagine giving up coffee in the morning. For those who fall into the latter category, kratom coffee is the perfect solution. Just make sure to choose a mellower strain of kratom.

While it’s fine to just add that daily dose of kratom powder to some brewed coffee, it’s better to cut the bitterness. Two tablespoons of vanilla syrup and two-and-a-half tablespoons of honey or sugar will make a huge difference.

6. Delicious Kratom Juice

Some people just combine their kratom with a cup of orange juice. Those who have juicers on hand can go one step further. It’s fine to use whatever fruits or veggies are on hand. Some hide the bitterness of kratom better than others.

Here’s a recipe for the perfect healthy, delicious kratom juice:

  • One apple
  • Two carrots
  • One lemon
  • A few leaves of kale
  • A slice of ginger
  • Beets or beetroot powder
  • A daily dose of kratom powder
  • Cinnamon to taste

7. Easy Kratom Chocolate

It’s easy to infuse kratom into dark or milk chocolate, although dark chocolate is healthier. All that’s required will be a double-boiler, some chocolate chips, ½ a cup of coconut oil, and some kratom. Some people also like to add extra sugar to the mix, as well.

Just melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler over low heat and pour in the coconut oil. Add the sugar here if desired. Wait until they have completely melted and mixed to stir into the kratom. Remove the mix from heat and pour it into a mold.

Disclosure: Be aware that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to use Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom, a plant which grows naturally in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. FDA is concerned that kratom, which affects the same opioid brain receptors as morphine, appears to have properties that expose users to the risks of addiction, abuse, and dependence.
