Our Greatest Fear is by Marianne Williamson from her book, “A Return to Love.” I had some “issues” with TMT (all week if we are being honest here) but Thursday night really tore me up. I wasn’t able to get my two college assignments completed before the kids got home from school so I waited until he got home to keep an eye on them for a little while so I could finish them up. Didn’t happen. He did everything he could to sabotage me into getting them done. To make a long story short, they … [Read more...] about Our Greatest Fear

You realize your baby isn’t your baby any longer. There are steps along the way to prepare you, sure. Their first step, their first word, their first day at school and, last of all, learning to ride their bike without training wheels. Today my baby boy took that last and final step from baby to little man. And it breaks my heart and brings tears to my eyes. He isn’t all mine anymore. He is an independent little person who doesn’t need my help with little things like that. … [Read more...] about There Comes a Day in Every Mom’s Life When…
I just knew those workouts I was ‘supposed’ to be doing 3x a week were going to come back to bite me in the butt. I was happily reading my news feeds when I heard a knock at the door. “God, what now?” I thought. I open the door and its my neighbor from upstairs telling me that another kid was out here trying to push Tre off his bike and then pulling his pants down. Jonathan got pissed (and rightfully so I might add) and took this kid on and started fighting with him to protect his brother. By the time I got outside, … [Read more...] about Have you ever seen a grown woman chase a 10-year-old boy around an apartment complex? It ain’t pretty!
Remember the little voice inside my head that wouldn’t leave me alone earlier today? She tried her best to avoid me. She ran through the living room, hiding behind the television. When I reached back there to grab her, she darted out the other side and ran and hid behind the chair. I pulled it back and ran after her when she flew over my head and hid behind the couch. I scrubbed her off the windows where she tried to hide, and chased her through the living room with the feather duster, but she always managed to stay one step ahead of me. … [Read more...] about I Found the Little Wench and I Killed Her!
I’m ranting big time today. This is just a crappy week all rolled into one. TMT has no money for gas to get back and forth to work so he’s going to have to bum a ride for the rest of the week – if he can find someone. If not, he’ll have to take some vacation time, which the company doesn’t like because it would be major short notice. No money for Jonathan’s doctor visit tomorrow (which is $5.00) and no money to get his prescription refilled on Sunday (another $5.00). The kids have just enough money on … [Read more...] about WTF Else Can Go Wrong?
I was trolling the internet last night looking for advice on how to break into the writer market. I’ve always loved to write stories, ever since I was a child, or take a real life experience and weave it into a story. The girls in my design group always liked my little stories I wrote about my kids, which encouraged me to start putting them online, which developed into the blog and the rest, as they say, is history. So I need a portfolio. And writing samples. So I decided to write a short story, a magazine article and an essay piece … [Read more...] about I Honestly Didn’t Know I Had It In Me
Her Bad Mother recently posted about abortion and that set the stage for my own thoughts to wander back to “that day” as I call it. I decided to open up, a bit more than normal, and tell you my story as well. When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I was ecstatic. Overjoyed. I woke my mother up at 5AM to call her and tell her she was going to be a grandmother. She mumbled something like, “That’s nice dear. Call me back later,” and hung up the phone. I sat there, with my EPT test, giddy with excitement, and nobody to tell. Funny that … [Read more...] about The Day You Almost Died
Yesterday I posted under The Teacher From Hell about what happened to Jonathan at school on Monday. Well today we had a meeting with Ms. Todd (Assistant Principal), Mr. Thompson (Guidance Counselor) and Dr. Woodard (Principal). The meeting started out with Dr. Woodard telling us that she was sorry for what happened to Jonathan yesterday and that the teacher who was filling in for his regular teacher (Ms. Saunders) was not aware of Jonathan’s requirements. TMT, naturally, got all blustery and loud and said, “I want that teacher in … [Read more...] about School Meeting
