I know that it has only been two days now since "the strike" but so many of you asked how it went that I had to pop in and give an update. Yesterday morning, I waited until the last possible moment to give Demon Boy his sneakers back. Little smart ass said, "I knew you wouldn't throw my sneakers away, Mom." Brat. However! When they came home and just dumped their jackets and backpacks on the floor and kicked their shoes off and left them where they landed, I just stood there and glared at them, hands on hips. Didn't have to … [Read more...] about Strike Update

This Maid’s On Strike, Too!
Mrs. Schmitty posted that she was on strike and you know what? I am too, damn it! I am so sick and tired of repeating myself friggin 30 times a night to the brainless wonders to: Pick up your toys Put your school things away Put your shoes away Clean up your bedroom Put your coats away Put your backpacks in your room I snapped tonight. I’ve just had enough. I’ve been telling the two of them for the past four god-forsaken hours to do all of the above. What did I get? IGNORED. School Meeting
Yesterday I posted under The Teacher From Hell about what happened to Jonathan at school on Monday. Well, today we had a meeting with Ms. Todd (Assistant Principal), Mr. Thompson (Guidance Counselor), and Dr. Woodard (Principal). The meeting started out with Dr. Woodard telling us that she was sorry for what happened to Jonathan yesterday and that the teacher who was filling in for his regular teacher (Ms. Saunders) was not aware of Jonathan’s requirements. TMT, naturally, got all blustery and loud and said, “I want that teacher in here. I want … [Read more...] about School Meeting
Happy Birthday Midget Man
You came into my life like a breath of fresh air. I was scared when I learned you were growing inside me; afraid that I wouldn’t be able to take care of you, love you, be there for you when you needed me. But as you grew and I felt you moving inside my tummy, my love for you grew as well. You became the whole center of my universe, because I knew you would be the last. You were going to be my little midget man. Seeing you now, after having spent six wonderful years with you, I can not imagine my life without you. Your smile just makes … [Read more...] about Happy Birthday Midget Man
When Boys Become Men
When exactly do little boys transition to wanting to become men?My son, Jonathan, who is only 9 years old said to me today, “I want to be a man and not a wimpy boy.”Those 11 little words put fear in my heart.Ever since his brother, Tre, started kindergarten this year, the Man Thing has been telling him that it his (Jonathan’s) responsibility to look after his little brother on the bus and at school. Jonathan has taken that responsibility to heart and will not allow anyone to bully, pick at, or touch his baby brother. That … [Read more...] about When Boys Become Men
Evel Kneivel Strikes Again
About two weeks ago The Demon Child took a spill off his bike and thought he was going to just die. So today, he got the chance to try his hand on a scooter. Naturally he had to start off going up and down a bunch of hills and yep, you guessed it, he lost his balance and rolled. He skinned up the palm of his hand and took a chunk of skin out of his hand. Now naturally he thinks his little world is going to come to an end and he's going to just die again. The whining and the crying has been going on non-stop for about an hour now, even though … [Read more...] about Evel Kneivel Strikes Again
