Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby with Sparkling Ice Cocktails

Cinco de Mayo - May 5th

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Originating in the 1860′s with Mexican-American communities in the American West, Southwest and Northwest, the American Cinco de Mayo began as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War.  Today, in the United States, Cinco de Mayo is observed annually on May 5 as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby happens to fall on Cinco de Mayo this year. Well, in all fairness, Derby Week kicked off on Saturday, April 28, 2018, and culminates in the final Kentucky Derby race on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

What do these two holidays have in common? Delicious sparkling cocktails – that’s what! So in honor of both, we are sharing some of our favorite recipes made with Sparkling Ice (two thumbs up for giving us a lightly carbonated, zero-calorie beverage which combines sparkling water, fruit juice and vitamins for a refreshing drink. Leaves more room for chips & guac and Derby food!) and a few southern Derby Day favorites!
