“Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” You can never truly understand the meaning of that phrase until you become a parent yourself. I know what my children need before they ask, the same as my parents before me. The same as with my Heavenly Father.
The other day while at the store picking up medicine for my husband who underwent emergency gall bladder surgery, I was in a bit of a panic because he also needed a nebulizer machine, albuterol medication or the nebulizer, as well as an albuterol inhaler. I also had three other prescriptions that I needed to fill, and only $15 to get all of it. Disheartened, I knew (from previous experience) that his insurance company most likely would not cover the nebulizer machine or, if they did, the co-payment would be more than I had. I asked the pharmacist to let me now how much those three items would be, and I planned on doing whatever I needed to do to get the money to cover them, so that he could breathe comfortably and rest at home without another hospital stay right after being discharged. I prayed that it was a small amount I would be able to get within 24 hours, and that the inhaler he had at home would get him through the night.
I quite literally had to wipe tears from my eye when the pharmacist told me that there would be no charge – for any of his medications. He smiled at me and said, “It’s a pleasure to be able to wait on people who are anxious, worried, or scared and under extreme stress as you seem to be – but take the time to remember that there is an equally stressed individual who has had a long day on the other side of the counter. Even with your expectations of bad news, you still treated each of us with kindness and respect. It is a pleasure to wait on customers such as yourself, and I am very happy to tell you that the insurance company is covering the full amount – for all of his prescriptions.”
