Dealing with Dust Allergies with an Indoor Air Purifier

Not everyone suffers from a dust allergy, or allergies in general, but those who do know how severe it can be. My husband suffers from emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and it is one of the reasons why I need to do my house cleaning on a day when he won’t be in and out of the house all day or will be gone for several hours. People with chronic breathing conditions, such as asthma, can turn a seeming normal room to you and I into a living hell with no air to breathe for them.

Common Household Air Pollutants

In cases like that, an inhaler is the only life-saving application. As this is a condition that we will be dealing with for the rest of our lives, we’ve learned how to minimize the chances of an indoor asthmatic attack by installing a good air purifier to help out.

Amazing Experience

These wonderful gadgets constantly purify the air of dust and germs, and the difference is easily perceptible by a pleasant coolness. If you have flowers in the vase, the perfume suddenly begins to be evident, and so on.  Ecstatic customer reviews sometimes compare the experience as the ‘breeze of heavens’ and a ‘pool of tranquility’. Consider installing one of these even when you do not have dust allergy as such because they are just great!

All you have to do is to check out a competent multi-brand retailer online before placing the orders. These cool gadgets come in a neat range of designs and functionalities. Side by side comparison charts at sites such as http://forhealthyair.com/  definitely helps to pick up the best product. Buyers should focus on a few key aspects as mentioned in the following sections.

Things to Note

Deciding from a list of five to six top brands is going to be confusing. To make the buying choice easy, prioritize on the features according to your unique requirements. For instance, when you do not have a pet in your house (although, everyone should adopt pets), there is no need to buy a purifier with pet hair removal features.

Air Purifier Buying Guide

The apparatuses would provide different levels of air purification, and sometimes having six stages of air purification may not be so important. Unless you are super nerdy about specs variations and stuffs like that, a four level purifier would do just fine. Moreover, decide also based on the coverage capacity. If you have a big room, make sure that the device can clean the dust from at least 500 square feet of space. Other features that decide the cost of the machine include carbon filtration, magnetic timer, deodorization, UV light technology (to see the invisible dust particles), and automatic filter change indicator.

Research Before You Purchase

The airflow aspect is very important and many customers prefer the cylindrical model with 360 degree air flow for all round benefits. You may also want to do some research on HEPA filters used in these cool gadgets. Visit your preferred online provider for these things. Read the product descriptions. Short list the options based upon your budget and needs preferences.

You can also consider discussing with the support staff at the contacts section of sites such as http://forhealthyair.com/. Experienced professionals can suggest the right appliance in minutes making it easy for you. For independent research, you can look up in customer review forums easily found in the internet. Video platforms such as YouTube also host multiple sponsored and un-sponsored reviews on latest gadgets. Checking out a brief instructional video certainly helps to clarify what you expect from the purifier gadget.

  1. We really need to get one of these! My husband was just diagnosed with emphysema, so I guess we will be shopping for one! Didn’t realize it was that complicated. Thanks for sharing!

    • The best place to start, honestly, @edna_williams:disqus is to check with your husband’s doctor and find out what type of air purifier he recommends that would benefit your husband. Then you can narrow down the selections and look at the various sizes (floor models vs. table or countertop models) and then decide how large an area you want it to cover or if you want to purchase multiple smaller, less expensive models that you can place throughout the home. Just be sure to find out what your replacement filters are going to cost as well – sometimes they can be really pricy!

  2. We should really get one for our house!! Hubby and I both have the worst allergies!!

    • They really do help so very much @disqus_1FcUfqxfqb:disqus … I bought one secondhand from a neighbor who was moving out of our apartment complex. It took me a little bit of digging to find the right filter for the model but once I did and we started using it – OMG the difference in the air quality was amazing!
