The holidays are here, and all of the gatherings that you are having needs to have some time-honored traditions, all served with love. The family gatherings that you’re going to have, or those with friends, are going to be focused around food, and nailing the recipes, to bring the gathering together, is something that is a must. So here are some of the best holiday recipes to try this year. Do you know which you will be trying out first?

Homemade Eggnog

If you are going to have an evening drink at a party of gathering, then eggnog is a must for the holidays. You can buy it, but leaning to make it from scratch, quite simply, can be a really good idea. After one taste, you’ll all be wanting more.

Old-Fashioned Green Beans

For your Christmas or Thanksgiving meal, you will need some sides. And one of the best sides to have is some old-fashioned green beans. Everyone does the traditional green bean casserole, so look for a recipe for these beans that uses bacon for a really rich taste, and add some brown sugar for some added sweetness. Making green beans this way is such a treat for the holidays.

Holiday Mimosa

If you want to add a splash of color to your festive table, then you can’t go too far wrong with a bright and lovely mimosa. If you want to create a really great drink, then it can be easy to be done from home. The mimosa has a sherbet kind of taste makes it a fun drink for the season.

Sweet Potato Bake

If you are planning a last-minute Thanksgiving dish, then something with sweet potatoes is a must. It is something that is creamy, tasty, and a really comforting dish, and there is nothing better than a baked sweet potato casserole. It has a bit of a nutty topping, and as a side dish, it is something that could nearly be a dessert (especially if you top it with some marshmallows).

Glazed Ham

Is it Christmas if there isn’t a glazed ham to eat? If you cook a full ham in a crockpot and have the best sauce, then it can create a really tender main dish, with some sweet and smoky flavors. You can glaze with bourbon, with honey, and even with a can of coke. It can be a really tasty dish and can be easy to make.

Stuffing from the Slow Cooker

If you are hosting a meal with friends and family, then stuffing is a must with your turkey. But there are so many ways to make it; have you ever tried it making it make using a slow cooker? It can be a really good idea when you have a lot of people to host but don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen. You can prepare and plan ahead and then just get it out of the slow cooker when you’re ready.

Party Shrimp

Shrimp is a great food to have at a party, especially if you are having a party with finger foods. They can be quickly cooked ahead of time, and then served with dressing on a stick, and you’re good to go. The marinade is something that is really key, as it helps to make the shrimp flavorful or not. So why not give it a go?

Peanut Butter Fudge

Fudge is something that is really a holiday tradition. You can make fudge in a slow cooker, as well as quickly mixing together and leave to set in the refrigerator. A fun twist on fudge is making it peanut butter flavor. You could also make a fun peppermint one, and decorate with crushed candy canes, for example. Lookup a peanut butter fudge recipe, and then you’ll be good to go.

Gingerbread Men Cookies

Is a holiday party or gathering going to ever be complete if there are no gingerbread cookies on the plate? They can be fun to decorate with the kids, and you could even go one step further and make the gingerbread dough into a house. The best news? It is really easy to make as well, which is a must.

Simple Au Gratin Potatoes

Potatoes are a staple for meals during the holidays. And some homemade au gratin potatoes are something that is always going to be welcome at the holiday table, right? They’re really simple to make and are great to have with ham, turkey, pork, and some other entrees.
