EXHALE by Plumb: Music That Speaks to Your Heart – Review and Giveaway

EXHALE by PLUMB

My personal taste in music runs across all genres. There are some days when only classical will do. A beautiful opera can reduce me to tears, even when sung in a different language. There are days when I miss North Carolina, and I crank the country music all day. Still other days when I’m feeling nostalgic and missing my mother, when only the oldies can soothe the ache in my heart. When I need a power shot of adrenaline, it’s classic rock or top 40 for this “I Want My MTV” gal. On other days, when I need to feel a closer connection with God that reading my Bible is not affording me, I turn on the Christian music station and wait for the Holy Spirit to fill my soul and make me feel at peace once again.

EXHALE by Plumb is a prime example of how the power of music, the emotion, passion and story that the song tells can change a soul, a life, an outlook. Music has the power to have your soul soaring through the clouds or crumbled at your feet in a puddle of tears. That’s the sheer beauty of it. I could never imagine a life without music – without a variety of music.

Learning to Exhale

I have struggled for many years to learn how to exhale, to relinquish control, to not be ashamed of my shortcomings, to love myself as I am, how God made me. To allow Him to wrap me in the comfort of His arms, to shelter me from the storm, and guide me through whatever problem I am facing if only I ask and seek Him out. The song “Exhale” by Plumb literally had me in tears, as this song speaks directly to my heart and all that I have struggled with.

“Exhale”
It’s okay to not be okay
This is a safe place
This is a safe place
Don’t be afraid
Don’t be ashamed
There’s still hope here
There’s still hope here

No matter what you’ve done or who you are
Everyone is welcome His arms

Just let go let His love wrap around you
And hold you close
Get lost in the surrender
Breathe it in until your heart breaks
Then exhale
Exhale

Spirit come tear down the walls
That only You can
That only You can
Reconcile this heart to Yours
Right now God
Right now

Just let go let His love wrap around you
And hold you close
Get lost in the surrender
Breathe it in until your heart breaks
Then exhale
Exhale

Oh God We breathe in your grace
We breathe in your grace
And exhale
Oh God we do not exist for us
But to share Your grace and love
And exhale

Oh God We breathe in your grace
We breathe in your grace
And exhale
Oh God we do not exist for us
But to share Your grace and love
And exhale

Just let go let His love wrap around you
And hold you close
Get lost in the surrender
Breathe it in until your heart breaks
Then exhale
Exhale
Exhale
Exhale
Exhale

Powerful, don’t you agree?

About Plumb:

Tiffany Arbuckle Lee, better-known by her stage name Plumb, is a songwriter, recording artist, performer and author. Plumb has sold more than 500,000 albums and over two million singles worldwide, co-penned songs for numerous other artists, including Michelle Branch, Mandisa, Mandy Moore, Jaci Velasquez, and Natalie Grant, and had music placed in many films and television shows.Originally signed as a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) recording artist in 1997, Plumb is now known as well as or better in alternative rock, electronic dance music, and for the use of her music in film and television than she is in the CCM market.

About the album – EXHALE:

EXHALE, the seventh studio album from acclaimed multi-genre singer, songwriter and author PLUMB, expresses a new focus and vision. After the runaway success of NEED YOU NOW (the album, title track and book), which coincided with her own moving story of brokenness and ultimately healing, Exhale brims with worshipful songs of gratitude and hope.

The defining concept of EXHALE was born from a sermon at Plumb’s home church, wherein her pastor Pete Wilson expressed the notion that the Church doesn’t exist for itself. Rather, believers come to church to breathe in grace and truth, be changed, and then go out and “exhale” that hope into their surrounding community.

“That idea of exhaling hope hit me right away and I couldn’t get to the Notes section on my phone fast enough. I started writing the chorus of Exhale right then and there,” explains Plumb. “I have been made new by the ultimate hope, and I want to share and exhale that hope in everyway I can.”

Plumb will be performing at King’s Dominion Theme Park in Doswell, VA on June 27. You can check her official website for her 2015 tour dates or connect with her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. You can also order EXHALE on iTunes.
