Getting That Perfect Night’s Sleep

Get a good night's sleep every night

For some people, the perfect nights sleep might not exist. They might wake up in the night a few times, sleep really lightly, or just take ages to fall asleep at night. Does any of these sound like you? Well, we are here to help you try and get the perfect night’s sleep.

Sleep is so important to our bodies with helping maintain normal function. Yet so many people take it for granted. Others spend the day dreaming of being able to jump back into bed at the end of the day. Whichever end of the scale you are, here’s how you can get a good night’s sleep.

develop an evening routine to wash and moisturize your face

A Routine.

Putting yourself into a routine is one of the easiest ways of making sure you get a good night’s sleep. Start by making sure your face is washed and cleansed, and a nice layer of moisturiser has been applied. It’ll help to make you feel clean and fresh, and will leave your skin looking lovely and subtle in the morning.

If you can, purchase some lavender spray from your local drug store for the next step. Once you’ve brushed your teeth, spray your pillow and the top part of your bedding with some lavender spray. It has soothing and relaxing properties which should help to send you to sleep. Put on your comfiest pajamas, and cuddle up in bed with a hot water bottle. The warmth combined with the lavender should knock you out quickly.

Try and do this for a reasonable time. 8 hours sleep a night is recommended, so if you’re setting your alarm for 7 in the morning, you need to be asleep by 11. Starting your bedtime routine at around 10 should see you asleep in time.

Ensure your mattress and your surroundings are comfortable to help you fall asleep faster

Your Bed.

Your bed plays a massive part in the amount of sleep you are going to get. Some people spend years sleeping on a mattress that just isn’t right for their posture, or causes and uncomfortable nights sleep. One of the biggest debates is whether memory foam is better or not. Some people thing it gives the best night’s sleep, others think it is too firm.

The best thing you can do is go to your local bed store and try different types. That way you can make an informed decision about which is best for you. You can then hunt online for the best mattresses. Here is a review for you to check out. Going online to get your mattress might save you a lot of money. The more mainstream bed stores seem to charge an absolute fortune, but if you go online there are websites selling beds for a fraction of the price. They are still expensive however, so always make sure you’re making the right decision with your purchase.

Cut off the technology and let your brain relax

Leave Tech Alone.

If you want to get a good night’s sleep, you need to get in the zone. A great way of doing this is by using the bedtime routine that we’ve spoke about. But if you jump right into bed and start scrolling through social media feeds, your mind is going to stay too active to be able to fall asleep quickly. The best environment is a dimly lit room, no TV on, and a book in hand.
