If you have entered the first half of this month and feel like you still haven’t made any progress towards your New Years’ goals, you are not alone.
Many of us think we will make big changes to our lives on the 1st January and become healthier and shootist immediately, but often this isn’t the case and we simply fall back into old habits.
Today we want to help you become healthier and happier in small ways by making healthy decisions every day. And here are some of the decisions you can make today to help you be more healthy in 2020.
1. Think positive
Make sure that you always stay positive. Positivity is a powerful emotion and it can help drive you to be happy. Think about the positives of everything no matter how hard it might be.
2. Eat veggies
Vegetables are amazing for your health and if there is one change you can make to your diet this year…. it is to eat more.
3. Eat 5 meals
5 small meals can be better than 2-3 big ones. The reason for this is because smaller meals will keep your metabolism ticking over throughout the day and help to motivate the body to digest food more efficiently.
4. Get moving
Walk up the stairs instead of taking the lift, cycle to the shops instead of driving… go swimming in the pool every morning. There are many ways to move and stay healthy and movement can be the most crucial change you make to yourself this year.
5. Sleep!
Sleep is the most important process the body can go through each day as it allows the body to repair itself, flush out toxins, and the brain to relax. This will ensure that you don’t go through your days in a daze and make stupid mistakes that could force you to use a lawyer like McGilberry & Shirer LLP to claim for an injury.
6. Rainbow your plate
Rainbow your plate every time you eat a meal. Always try to get as many different colored foods onto one plate as you can. This includes green leaves like spinach, red peppers, yellow squash, purple beets and more.
7. Eat like a kid
Finger food is a great way to eat veggies without feeling like you are eating them. Instead of taking a packet of crisps to work with you in the morning take some veggie sticks and a dip such as houmous to enjoy instead.
8. Be picky with food
Be more picky about what you eat. Only eat the best quality food and ensure that you don’t eat things that are processed and cheap.
9. Use food as supplements
Don’t buy supplement tablets. If you want to gain a high dose of potassium, eat a banana!
10. Don’t procrastinate
Procrastination is a dangerous thing and will only induce stress. Avoid this and get things done as soon as you can!
Now you have some ideas of healthier choices you can make this year, here are some inspirational quotes to motivate you to make these choices today!
