Jetting Off On Holiday? Read This!

If you’re jetting off on holiday, then we can’t even begin to image how excited you are at the minute. Knowing you’re going on holiday is one of the most exciting times for a person, and the most annoying thing is that you usually have to wait months for it to come around. As annoying as the long wait usually is for people, there’s one positive to come from this. At least you know that you’re going to have plenty of time to plan, prep, and make yourself holiday ready. Of course, it all depends on what holiday you’re going on, as to what preparation is needed for the holiday.

If you’re going on a short little weekend break away, then you’re obviously not going to need to do that much preparation. Two weeks in the Caribbean however, you’re going to need to get list making. Whatever you’re doing, we know you’re going to be buzzing for it, so we’re going to try and take any holiday stress out of the way, and make everything a little bit easier for you!

Have You Even Booked Yet?!

If you haven’t even booked yet, then we know that one of your main stresses is going to be the fact that you just don’t know where to go. Deciding on what country to actually visit is probably one of the hardest decisions you’ll have to make. It isn’t until you get older that you start returning back to destinations that you really love. Whilst we’re young and free, we like to experience a range of different countries to find out what we like. So, if you’re about to go through the booking process, there’s a few simple rules that you’re going to have to follow.

The first being that you need to focus on what you want from a holiday, what time of year you’re going to go, and how long you want to go for. Now, by what type of holiday you want, we mean what do you see yourself doing when you’re there. Are you someone who loves to lay by the pool or day, or perhaps venture to the beach for a day or two? Or are you someone who prefers to be out and about doing things all of the time? Whichever one you fall into, it’s fine.

People have different expectations of holidays. However, if you fall into the second category, some things just aren’t going to be for you. For example, if you like to just lie on the beach all day, then you’re not going to be so bothered about the actual destination, as long as the hotel is nice, there’s a few local cocktail bars, and the scenery is beautiful. If you’re someone who wants to be on a quad bike one day, and up a mountain the next, you’re limiting your options. So, when searching for a holiday, search for no destination on sites such as TUI. Filter options such as all inclusive, or the rating, and then scroll through and pick out hotels you like the look of. Google ‘things to do in….’ and put your destination, and see what comes up. You’re either going to see it’s going plenty to do, or nothing! It makes the picking process more exciting, and a lot easier.

What Are Your Main Stresses

You’re going to stress about your holiday, it’s just bound to happen. Whether you’re stressing over booking it, affording the spending money, how many outfits to take… the list could go on. So, we think you need to pinpoint your stress, and work through it rationally. If it’s to do with money, then you’re just going to have to restrict other aspects of your life to make sure that you can afford it. Stressing about money is only going to be as stressful as you let it be… if that makes sense.

If you know you’re someone with absolutely no self control, then it’s obviously not going to work for you. You might benefit from withdrawing the money you need for your holiday, whether it be spending money or clothes money, and giving it to someone you trust so you have it safe, and with someone who won’t give it you to spend as and when you want. Another stress people have is through the actual flying process. The amount of people who have a serious fear of flying seems to be growing. But it’s important to know that flying is one of the safest methods of transport, and you’re more likely to be killed on a train than you would getting on a plane. Here’s a few more statistics that might help to put your mind at ease.

Girl Issues To Deal With

Girl issues just seem to come around at the worst time, and that time is usually when it comes to going on holiday. If you’re really unlucky, your time will come whilst you’re on holiday! We’re obviously on about the dreaded period here, and it’s an absolute nightmare if it falls on the time that you’re on your jolly’s. However, you can so easily delay your period for an upcoming holiday by taking a simple pill that can stop your period for up to 17 days. Considering the average length of a holiday is usually two weeks at an absolute push, this is obviously something that you should consider! It’s obviously not the best to be doing this all of the time, so don’t just try and cop out of every period you have by doing this!

Packing Nightmares Solved

When it finally comes round to packing time, you’re going to go through a nightmare. Well, most of you are. A lot of people will breeze through the process, and for those of you who can, there are a lot of people that are going to be jealous of you. It’s so easy to lose your head when packing, and that can so easily lead to mistakes. So, the first thing you need to do is write a list of all of the essentials that you’re going to need to take. Then you need to think about how many bikinis, how many night outfits, and how many casual day outfits that you need. Sort them all into piles, counting as you go to make sure that you’ve got the right amount of things. Then, pack away! You’ll soon realise if you’ve missed anything out, or if you might be falling short with your clothing. It’s always best to overpack as long as you have the room to. We probably don’t even need to tell most of you girls to overpack, we know it’s going to happen anyway!

Airport Disasters Avoided

Airport disasters don’t happen too often. They only really happen to those that aren’t prepared. If there’s four things you essentially need, it’s your passport, yourself, your boarding passes, and your cases. If you have all of those, there’s nothing that you can’t buy from the airport, or when you land that you’re going to need. We already know your phone is going to be glued to your hand, so there’s no need to worry about that. For a long haul flight, always make sure that you’re arriving 3 hours early. If you’re leaving for a short haul flight, there’s nothing wrong with getting there two hours early if you’re flying early morning or later at night. If you’re flying mid day, it’s always best to allow the maximum amount of time, just in case security is busy.

So, if you’re jetting off, we hope you feel slightly more prepared to tackle the whole process! Enjoy your holidays!
