#MomWisdom Monday: Baby is 1, Now What?

We are back with Week #6 of #MomWisdom Monday with Julie S. hosting this week!

My baby boy is about to turn one. ONE! I can’t even. How did this happen? But also, I’m completely lost here. There are books and websites and tons and tons of information by the month, by the week even, for infants. But what happens at age 1?

I see so many charts that end with 11 months and just then switch to toddler. But it seems like the word “toddlers” encompasses ages 1, 2, and even 3. That’s a HUGE developmental range.

Does my baby go from a mostly liquid diet to eating “meals” overnight after his birthday? Somehow I doubt he’ll give up his bottle anytime soon.

What developmental changes am I expecting to see in the coming months?

What does “toddlerhood” really mean?

So this week’s #Momwisdom Monday topic is all about the one-year-olds and what to expect.

What is #MomWisdom Monday?

Let’s be real. We’re raising the next generation. The generation that will one day run this country. Will one day vote for our leaders, may even be our leaders. We’re raising the next teen idol, Hollywood heart-throb, the next Miss America, Babe Ruth, or Steve Jobs. It’s a tough job, and those little ones don’t come with an instruction manual. Trust us, we’ve checked every nook, cranny and orifice of my kids trying to find it. It doesn’t exist.

#MomWisdom Monday is all about sharing what you’ve learned with your own kids (either from the experts or by trial and error) and lifting each other up when we need it most. Parenting takes a village – an army sometimes. It isn’t a matter of parent vs. parent. We’re all in this together, so let’s share the love and raise a future generation that we all can be proud of.
