Being of German descent, I love Oktoberfest. I remember my nana and my great-grandmother preparing foods during this time of year to celebrate their German heritage. I think it is where my love of the fall season began – always centered around food – and the wonderful array of smells and the constant tantalizing smells that would be coming from their kitchens on any given day. Lord this time of year brings back some powerfully wonderful memories!
