Pink Saturday – Pumpkins & More Pumpkins

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting The Vintage Nest for the first time.  While I stopped in as a participant of Pink Saturday, Lynn’s blog soon became a favorite and added to my Blog Roll when I saw this post.  The beautiful photographs she took from around her home are so inspiring and just breathtaking.  I do believe she is one of the luckiest ladies around to live in such a beautifully serene corner of the world!  Definitely a favorite that I will be checking out more often!

Now, on to my post this week for the Pumpkins and More Pumpkins theme!  I absolutely adore pumpkins and gourds for decorating at this time of year.  I remember when I was a young girl growing up in Pennsylvania, my mother and nana would always decorate the house with cornucopias filled with gourds, scarecrows, ceramic pumpkins and ghosts that would light up in the evening with the flick of a switch and transform our home into a haunted playground.  Sadly, I have not been able to recreate those memories for my own brood (yet) but I’m working on doing some decorating with the resources that I have available around me courtesy of Mother Nature.

This is about the extent of my fall and Halloween decorations at the moment.  Sucks not having any funds to do more … hopefully this weekend we might be able to go and get a few small pumpkins or gourds to decorate with … if we do, I’ll update this post with more images.  I love how my pine arrangement turned out.  I went outside and asked the tree’s blessing to have some of its beauty to bring indoors with me and snipped a few of the low hanging branches to put in my tall vase and tied a pretty ribbon around the base.  It smells absolutely heavenly in my living room!

I love my little bottle of ‘pink’ champagne and the two flutes next to it.  Just adds a touch of elegance to the setting I think!  Now that my photos are done, I’d like to share some other absolutely gorgeous arrangements with you all from around the web that I fell in love with.  You can view each of these images (along with links to the original posts) on my Pinterest page in the Fall & All Hallow’s Eve board.
