I have always believed in the Rapture, where Jesus will return to Earth and those that have died believing in Christ will be raised and living Christians will be caught up to meet Him in the air and be with Him forever. Some call it the resurrection. It has always been something I’ve been fascinated about and tried to learn more about because no man knows the day or the hour when this will take place.
Bible scholars continue to debate the timing of the Rapture, but the bigger question is, why is this mysterious event even prophesied to happen in the first place? What did the ancient Galileans know about the end of the world that we have lost over the millennia that they clearly understood?
Although most people today no longer believe that Jesus is coming back, newly discovered ancient anthropological evidence from the time of Christ finally reveals unprecedented findings that could prove the upcoming Rapture is not only real but why this event will soon come to pass.
Regardless of your end-times views, Before the Wrath will captivate believers and non-believers alike, revealing new depths of theological understanding regarding what Jesus revealed to the ancient Galileans about the end of the world in ways you could never imagine.
The movie features interviews with the following:
- Jack Hibbs – Theologist and host of “Real Life” on SiriusXM
- Amir Tsarfati – Founder and President of Behold Israel
- Jan Markell – Founder of Olive Tree Ministries
- J.D. Farag – Theologist and Eschatologist
- Scott McConnell – Executive Director of Lifeway Research
- Jay McCarl – Ancient Middle Eastern Anthropologist
- Lizette Dillinger – Qualitative Director of Lifeway Research
The Bible characterizes the Rapture as the great tribulation lasting seven years to be followed by Christ’s second coming and be followed by the thousand-year Messianic Kingdom. But what does all that mean?
Before the Wrath really connects the dots for me and explains in layman’s terms exactly what the Rapture will be like – a Galilean wedding – which makes a lot of sense!
The bride (which is us, the believers) needs to say yes to her groom (which is Jesus). The groom then promises to come to get the bride – but here is the kicker – no one, not the groom, not the bride, not those attending the wedding – no one knows when the wedding will occur. (We don’t know when the end times will take place). The groom’s dad (which is God) is the only one who decides this and tells the groom when it is time. Could be 3 a.m. could be 11:58 p.m. – only the groom’s dad (God) knows when this will take place. When he gives the word, this is when the groom (Jesus) goes to get his bride. The bride (us believers) sits on a litter and is lifted up (the Rapture) and is carried to the house of the groom’s father (Heaven) where the groom has prepared a suite for them attached to his father’s house.
The members of the wedding party needed to be ready. The bride and her court wore their wedding finery to sleep in case the groom came in the middle of the night. Those invited to attend the wedding needed to be ready as well. If they missed the procession, they were locked out of the wedding and there was no entry once the event began.
Weddings I understand – so this made a lot of sense for me and helped me to connect the dots. I still don’t know when the Rapture will be, but my understanding of how it will happen is much clearer.
