"Toys for Tots began in 1947 as the brain child of Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks, Actually it was his wife, Diane, who was the real inspiration. She had crafted a few handcrafted dolls and asked Bill to deliver them to an agency that supports children in need. When Bill reported back to his wife he could not find such an organization, she instructed him to “start one!”. Maj Hendricks and the Marines in his reserve unit in LA collected and distributed 5,000 toys in 1947." -Toys For Tots With the #HolidaySeason ? approaching us quickly, remember it is not always about what we get but what we can give. Toys for Tots, a 72-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children during each Christmas holiday season.  The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by the Marines offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime.

Are You Santa Claus?

It is such experiences that help children become responsible citizens and caring members of their community.

Last year the Marine Toys for Tots Program fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7 million less fortunate children in over 800 communities nationwide.

Since 1947 over 258 million children have been assisted. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not for profit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Department of Defense to provide fundraising and other necessary support for the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.  For more information, visit www.toysfortots.org.

Donate a Toy

Donating a Toy is one of the experiences that makes Marine Toys for Tots different from other programs.

When you place a toy in a Marine Toys for Tots collection box or donate it to one of our Local Campaigns, you experience the joy of knowing that toy will be under the tree in a family’s home and bring a smile to a less fortunate child Christmas morning. This gives our supporters a uniquely personal connection to Marine Toys for Tots.

Every Child Deserves a Little Christmas

The basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas.

The primary goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, through the gift of a new toy, to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.

Toy applications are accepted and managed by the Local Marine Toys for Tots Campaign in your area. The Foundation does not have the ability to take toy applications for families and non-profits at the National level. Please contact your Local Marine Toys for Tots Campaign for information on how to apply for assistance.

If you would like to apply for assistance from Marine Toys for Tots this Christmas CLICK HERE to find the Local Marine Toys for Tots Campaign in your community and visit their local campaign website for details and instructions.
