Your Guide to Napsgiving and The Food Coma

Tuesday, November 22, 2016 by Kimberly Miller

I am the type of person who can sit down in a comfortable chair or sofa and be sound asleep within 20 minutes. That is just the way I'm wired I suppose, since I've been doing it since I was a pre-teen. Naturally, the absolute best time to pull the "mom's asleep in the chair again" trick is right after a meal, when the table needs to be cleared and dishes need to be done. I did all the cooking, so why should I do all the cleaning up too? Remember Grandma Betty and Grandpa Lester telling you that it was the turkey you were eating that made you … [Read more...] about Your Guide to Napsgiving and The Food Coma

These are - … [Read more...] about Mom’s Recipes – Pecan Lassies

Mom’s Recipes – Almond Crescent Cookies

Thursday, December 4, 2014 by Kimberly Miller

Once November 1st came around each year, our home went into full-blown holiday mode when I was growing up. Mom would decorate the house for fall and Thanksgiving, there were delicious aromas to greet us every day when we arrived home from school. If she wasn't baking up some delicious homemade pumpkin pies, then she was baking zucchini bread or making cookies. I identify each of those smells with home and the holidays, and I hope to be able to continue that tradition this year. One of my most favorite cookies that Nana and Mom used to make … [Read more...] about Mom’s Recipes – Almond Crescent Cookies

Mom’s Recipes – Miniature Cheesecakes

Sunday, December 15, 2013 by Kimberly Miller

Our family loves cheesecake ANYTHING and when mom would make her infamous miniature cheesecakes during the holidays, us kids could not wait to get home and devour an entire tray of them for ourselves! Mom got to the point where she had to ration them out to us or there would have been none left for anyone else at all! Super easy recipe to make. Mom's miniature cheesecake recipe calls for vanilla wafers but you can use a graham cracker crumb bottom or even use crushed oreo cookies for the bottom. In addition, you can choose whatever topping you … [Read more...] about Mom’s Recipes – Miniature Cheesecakes
