Textbook Savings For Your College Student and You

The leaves are changing, your student has headed off to college, and there you are at the kitchen table, holding your head in your hands, literally in shock over the costs you are looking at over the next several years. I’ve been there where you are, when my daughter began applying for colleges. I had no earthly idea how on earth she was going to manage it all, or how I was going to be able to help her with any of the costs associated with her getting her degree. One thing I did know was that where there is a will, there is a way.

Textbooks are one huge cost that college students are hit with unexpectedly. The cost is astronomical and if you do not have a clear plan in place or a budget to account for the cost of textbooks, you can find yourself in a serious financial bind – quick. Let me show you what I mean.

I picked a random book – Fundamental Accounting Principles Edition 20 by John Wild, Ken Shaw, and Barbara Chiappetta. Check out the table below on the various costs for just this one book:

Online Site New Used 130 Day Rental
CampusBookRentals.com n/a n/a $ 20.49
Barnes & Noble $ 234.43 $ 157.64 $ 76.89
Amazon.com $ 207.63 varied $ 82.79

There it is, in black and white, the amount of money that you and your college student can be saving on college textbooks by using CampusBookRentals.com. April used their services when she was attending college, and it saved her a tremendous amount of money. There are some textbooks that you will want to keep and therefore purchasing them online from places like Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble would be the way to go. However, for those textbooks that you only need for a certain amount of time, save yourself 40 to 90% off the cost  of purchasing by using CampusBookRentals.com.

You can choose the date you want the textbook delivered and schedule when you will return it. If you need it longer than you anticipated, not a problem! Just go online within the 15 day grace period and extend your rental period. If you drop a class or no longer need it, you can send it back within 30 days for a full refund. Treat it just as though you would if you owned it. Highlight, write notes in the margins, do what you need to. They won’t charge you for it, and when you are finished, just drop the book in the prepaid envelope and send it back. Free shipping both ways. There simply is no better solution for your college textbook needs!

Operation Smile

Giving Back with Operation Smile & RentBack.com

One of the things that we love about CampusBookRentals.com is that they have been a partner of Operation Smile since 2011. A donation is made to Operation Smile with each textbook rented, and students participating in RentBack have the opportunity to direct a portion of their earnings to Operation Smile directly from their RentBack account.

About Operation Smile:

Operation Smile is an international children’s medical charity that performs safe, effective cleft lip and cleft palate surgery, and delivers postoperative and ongoing medical therapies to children in low and middle-income countries.

At Operation Smile, we’re more than a charity. We’re a mobilized force of international medical professionals and caring hearts. Operation Smile is a pioneer in advocating for the importance of safe surgery in resource poor environments and is the largest surgical charity of its kind, leading research into the causes of cleft lip and cleft palate, and its prevention, treatment and eradication.

RentBack.com

CampusBookRentals wants to help students – so they started a program called RentBack.com. The concept is simple, the program, powerful. RentBack puts money into your student’s pockets by allowing them to rent the textbooks that they own – to other students – which makes them 2 to 4 times more money than they could make through a buyback option! Selling your book back at the end of the semester allows the business of textbooks to be put in the student’s hands!

Every student who participates in the RentBack program has the option of making a donation directly from their account to help Operation Smile with the wonderful work they are doing around the world. Just one more added bonus!

While there may not be anything you can do about the rising cost of tuition at your favorite college, CampusBookRentals.com and RentBack.com are leading the way in saving your student (and you!) money on the textbooks necessary for their college education. Visit their websites today and see for yourself how much money you could be saving – and earning!

  1. We'll have to check ChampusBookRentals.com this last semester of school. We've probably used just about every method searching by the ISBN #, searched lots of websites, bought used from Craigslist for local community college texts, bought new and used, rented books and had them sent to grandma's out of state to save shipping costs, etc. This last semester we bought a new book used for a graduate class (no major electives left) and bought the rest used and most will be resold to recover some costs.
