A relaxing family outing during a Virginia Beach vacation includes a trip to the Virginia Aquarium. This aquarium is very close to the oceanfront, so it one takes a short drive in the car. The Virginia Aquarium is packed full of awesome marine life that will impress all members of the family! You will be blown away right from the start. Right at the entrance is a tank full of adorable otters! Seeing the cute and fast otters gets the kids excited for more. Inside the aquarium are an array of sharks, turtles, jelly fish, unique fish, and sting rays. If you catch them at the right time, you will even see some mermaids!
A great park that is full of family friendly activities is the Mount Trashmore Park. This park is one of VA Beach’s best places for families because it has playgrounds, skate parks, ponds, nature trails, and gardens. Mount Trashmore Park also hosts events that are especially for children. One of the most popular series they have going on in the summer is the “Summer Movie Night Series”. The evenings during this event start at 7:00PM with interactive games and fun for the kids. At sunset, the big screen will show one movie outdoors!
